After my long journey through Europe, I’m finally home. And the proverb is true “There’s no place like home”. My last destination is Cluj-Napoca, a city beloved to me. In my opinion it is one of the most effervescent cities of Europe with such a fascinating cultural environment.

Cluj is situated in the “Heart of Transilvania” being one of the most important cities of Romania because of its historical and economical development. In 2015 Cluj-Napoca was declared The European capital of youth. Several events took place throughout the year, including the first edition of UNTOLD festival, which put the city on the youth map and which I attended.

UNTOLD, the world capital of night and magic, is the biggest music festival in Romania, taking place on Cluj Arena. Each edition of the festival is called a “chapter” because the festival is portrayed as a fairytale, each year having different themes and a lot of famous international artists such as: Martin Garrix, Steve Aoki, Dimitri Vegas&Like Mike, David Guetta, Tiesto, Afrojack, Tujamo and of course Armin van Buuren. These are in fact just a few of them because the festival invites over 200 artists every year, during the 4 days. There are at least 10 stages with different music genres so Untold is for everybody.

What I like the most about Untold is the atmosphere, the way it connects people through music, knowing that everyone is there to have fun with their friends and maybe even make new friends, all the party people that never sleep and nothing can stop them from dancing, not even the rain.

One third of the population of Cluj is made up of students from all over the country and Europe, attracted by the varied study, the city’s vivacity and all the opportunities it offers. Their favorite place in the city is Piezisa Street, a road full of bars where you can enjoy a drink for much less than in the city center.
Recently I paid a visit to the French Institute and I attended a conference with our French teacher. The amount of culture and history that you can find at the Institute is huge and spectacular. We had our morning coffee and our lunch at a French-style café called A la Tarte and it was lovely.

Overall, Cluj is a very active and friendly city, with a great importance in university studies, with a crazy night life and with the kindest people I’ve met.
Soooo, this was my journey, I hope that you enjoyed to travel around the Europe with me!
